Description |
Chinese painting and calligraphy brush with a green jade handle. There are three main types of calligraphy brushes in China: small ones called Xiao Kai ,which are made of goat hair; middle-sized ones called Zhong Kai made of wolf fur and big ones called Da Kai made of ox hair. This brush is a Da Kai, made of ox hair. The brush was dipped in Chinese ink and used for writing and drawing in the past. This brush is still used when people do traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy.
